Museum Sultan Abu Bakar, Pekan
The Museum Sultan Abu Bakar is conceptualized as a museum in a garden – The Intelektual Garden. It utilizes an open-space concept which signifies open-mindedness, the inception of ideas, imagination and creativity. This concept will also compliment the museum’s displays and exhibition space, of which the former will focus on the current age of Malaysia in general and more specifically of its East Coast inhabitants with a stronger emphasis on their identity as a people, their ideas as concepted and thought, their religion and their global values without foregoing the people of the past. This will make for a unique and contemporary experience. With this, the Pahang State Museum will become an updated reference and information center that handles the culture, art and heritage of Pahang in relation to their traditional values, spirituality and aesthetics.
